Busiest port for cargo volume

According to Official Guinness Records,

The sea port with the most cargo per year is the Port of Ningbo-Zhoushan (China) which, in 2016, turned over a total of 900 million tonnes of cargo. This cargo was packaged in more than 23.3 million twenty-foot equivalent (TEU) cargo containers, each measuring 6.1 metres (20 feet) in length, 2.44 metres (8 feet) in width and of varying heights. The 191-berth port rose to dominance after it merged with the neighbouring Zhoushan Port Group in 2015. Located on the East China Sea, the port has a long history, established in the year 738 – during the time of China’s Tang Dynasty.
