The fastest time to row 40,075 km (24,901 miles), the distance equivalent to the length of the equator, on a Concept II Indoor Rower is 2 years, 6 months and 20 days and was set by David Holby at The Malls Shopping Centre, Basingstoke, United Kingdom, on 18 December 2010.
David, who during his 934-day long attempt became known as Dave the Rower, began to row on 28 May 2008 and covered on average 300.34 km (186.62 miles) per week (based on 7 to 8 hours rowing a day, five days a week).
