Fastest steam car (FIA approved)

According to Official Guinness Records,

The fastest FIA-approved steam car is the "Inspiration", designed by the British Steam Car Team, which reached 225.05 km/h (139.84 mi/h), driven by Charles Burnett III (USA) at Edwards Airbase, California, USA, on 25 August 2009.We also carry a non FIA record (ID 43541) on our database which currently stands at: On 19 August 1985, Robert E. Barber broke the 79-year-old record for a steam car when Steamin' Demon, built by the Barber-Nichols Engineering Co., reached 234.331 km/h (145.607 mi/h) at Bonneville Salt Flats, Utah, USA. This record is, however, not FIA approved.
