Fastest swim long course 200 metres backstroke (male)

According to Official Guinness Records,

The fastest long course 200 m backstroke by a male swimmer is 1 minute 51.92 seconds, by Aaron Peirsol (USA) at the FINA World Championships in Rome, Italy, on 31 July 2009. He beat his own world record – set earlier than month at the US Swimming National Championships – by more than a second.
