First Beefeater (female)

According to Official Guinness Records,

The first female Beefeater is Moira Cameron (UK) who was appointed as Yeoman Warder of Her Majesty's Royal Palace and Fortress the Tower of London, UK, in January 2007. Beefeaters, an historically male role, are ceremonial guardians of the Tower of London whose traditional purpose was to look after prisoners being held there and safeguard the British Crown Jewels. In practice however, Yeoman Warder Cameron's duties are performing the Ceremony of the Keys and knowing the 1,000-year history of the Tower of London so she can conduct her own Beefeater Tour.
The office of Yeoman Warder has existed since 11th Century.
