First female four-star general

According to Official Guinness Records,

On Friday 14 November 2008 after 33 years in the US Army and at the age of 55, Ann E Dunwoody (USA) was promoted to full general rank - four-star general - the first in the US forces and possibly the world. Coming from a family with a tradition of service in the military spanning five generations, she was sworn in on the same date as Commander of the Army Materiel Command responsible for equipping, outfitting and arming all US commands across the globe.
