First NHL regular season match played in Europe

According to Official Guinness Records,

The first National Hockey League (NHL) regular season games played in Europe were contested between the Los Angeles Kings (USA) and the Anaheim Ducks (USA) at the O2 Arena in London, UK on 29 September and 30 September 2007. The Kings won the first game, 4-1, and the Ducks won the second by the same score. The NHL has opened its season outside North America three other times: in Japan in 1997, 1998 and 2000, but this was the first league game played in Europe. Note: The New York Rangers (USA) and Toronto Maple Leafs (Canada) played a pre-season game in London, in 1993.
