First rally

According to Official Guinness Records,

The earliest long rally was promoted by the Parisian daily Le Matin in 1907 from Peking (now Beijing), China to Paris over about 12,000km 7500miles on 10 June. The winner, Prince Scipione Borghese (1872-1927) of Italy, arrived in Paris on 10 Aug 1907 in his 40-hp Itala accompanied by his chauffeur, Ettore Guizzardi, and Luigi Barzini.
