Between 1 January and 18 December 2016, Walt Disney Studios (USA) grossed an estimated $2,700,400,000 (£2.16 billion) domestically – the most money taken by a studio at the domestic box office in one year. Some of its most successful releases of 2016 were Captain America: Civil War, The Jungle Book, Finding Dory and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Walt Disney Studios encompasses the following: Disney, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm.In 2016, Walt Disney Studios also set a new record for highest-grossing studio (global box office), exceeding $7 billion (£5.6 billion) between 1 January and 19 December 2016;it was the first time that a movie studio had ever surpassed this milestone.
