The largest chestnut roaster is 9.5 m (31 ft 2 in) long (including the handle) and it has 5 m (16 ft 4 in) of diameter. It has a weight of 600 Kg (1,322.77 lb) and it is able to roast 1,000 Kg (2,204 lb) of chestnuts at one time. It was made by the Câmara Municipal de Vinhais during the 2007 RuralCastanea - Festa da Castanha (Chestnut Party), in Vinhais, Bragança, Portugal, on 1 November 2007. The chestnut roaster was completely handicrafted following the traditional ways and models. Vinhais produces the 33% of the Portuguese chestnuts. During the fair and the period surrounding it (around November) chestnuts are traditionally consumed roasted together with a traditional alcoholic drink "Jeropiga", with friends around a fire. This way of celebration is called "Magusto".
