According to Official Guinness Records,

The most stairs climbed whilst balancing books on the head is 122 and was achieved by Ashrita Furman, (USA) at the Lexington Avenue and 63rd Street, New York subway, United States, on 25 October 2009. Ashrita ran up 3 separate flights of stairs in the New York City subway. The books he used to balance on his head weighed a total of 3.5 kilos.
