First inclusion of amputee athletes at the Paralympic Games

According to Official Guinness Records,

Amputee athletes competed in the Paralympics for the first time at the 1976 Games hosted by Toronto, Canada. Wheelchair racing over distances of 200 m, 400 m, 800 m and 1,500 m was added to the line-up along with goalball, a sport aimed at visually impaired athletes. The stand-out athlete was Arnie Boldt (Canada), an 18-year-old leg amputee, who won gold in the long jump and the high jump.
