First public electric railway still in operation

According to Official Guinness Records,

The Volk’s Electric Railway, which runs along the seafront at Brighton, UK, between the pier and the marina, is the oldest electric railway still in operation. Designed by Magnus Volk (UK), the railway first opened for business on 4 August 1883.
