First self-published author to sell one million e-books

According to Official Guinness Records,

The first published writer to sell one million e-books was James Patterson, in 2010. Now a self-published author has achieved the feat of selling one million Kindle-formatted e-books on Amazon. Kentucky-based writer John Locke passed this impressive milestone in June 2011, using Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing service. To date, Locke has published 21 novels plus one non-fiction book, entitled How I Sold 1 Million eBooks in 5 Months. His total sales for all titles are now estimated to be in excess of 2 million.
