First silk maps

According to Official Guinness Records,

Archaeologists discovered the first silk maps during excavations in Hunan Province, China, in 1973-74. They were found in the tombs of a prime minister, his wife and one of his sons—who are believed to have died in the 2nd Century BC. Scholars say that the maps were created by cartographers in the court of the King of Ch’ang-sha—the kingdom included Hunan and surrounding areas—and were incredibly accurate, indicating that cartography was already quite advanced in China by then. One of the maps covers the topography of not only modern Hunan but areas encompassing land all the way down to the South China Sea.
