According to Official Guinness Records,

The most medal-winning countries at a single Olympic Games is 87, set at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 5 to 21 August 2016. 87 countries won at least one medal, be it gold, silver or bronze.
