According to Official Guinness Records,

Brian Charles Lara (b. 2 May 1969) scored 501 not out in 7hr 54min for Warwickshire v. Durham at Edgbaston on 3 and 6 Jun 1994. His innings included the most runs in a day (390 on 6 June) and the most runs from strokes worth four or more (308, 62 fours and 10 sixes).
