According to Official Guinness Records,

Native to the USA, the world´s rarest species of bumblebee is Franklin´s bumblebee (Bombus franklini). Classed as Critically Endangered by the IUCN, only one individual was found during extensive surveys of its limited distribution range in Oregon and California during 2006.
