The strongest ligament is the iliofemoral ligament with a tensile strength of 350 newtons (78.68 lb-force).The iliofemoral ligament connects the hip to the thigh-bone;it has a tensile strength of 350 newtons (78.68 lb-force).The iliofemoral ligament is positioned to prevent excessive extension and plays a significant role in stabilising and in maintaining upright posture at the hip, while limiting anterior translation.
