Busiest railway network for freight (country)

According to Official Guinness Records,

China's national railway network carried 2.178 billion tonnes of freight during 2004, making it the world's busiest for cargo. The USA was second, with 1.673 billion tonnes, and Russia third, with 1.16 billion tonnes, according to the International Union of Railways (UIC).
